It’s time to go racing at The Powercom Speedzone in Oshkosh. The
first racing event of the season is scheduled for Tuesday night May
10. Racing is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Drivers and crews have been busy preparing for the season ahead
with many teams taking advantage of the two inspection/practice days
that were held prior to the season opener. During these sessions,
teams were able to get their cars through the inspection process and
then take to the fast 1/3 mile clay oval to test their cars in
preparation for the much anticipated first race of the season. With
the point battles in most divisions last season coming down to the
final points race, many drivers are hoping that the practice time
will help them get off to a quick start in the points race for this
season.
On the program for the season opening event will be the
Tri-County Distributors sponsored Budweiser Modifieds, the Charter
Communications Stocks, the Grand Nationals and the Sign Makers Dirt
Devils. R.E.E.L. Cleaning Solutions will sponsor the X-Treme Dirt
Devils. Also on the program will the Johnsonville Sausage Wisconsin
Dirt Late Models Association. The late models will be in action for
eight of the sixteen programs on the schedule. The Gibbsville Cheese
Wisconsin Legends Dirt Racing Series is scheduled to make four
appearances. The IRA Outlaw Sprints will travel to the Speed Zone on
August 30 to join the four weekly divisions A-Main points finale
night.
In addition to a full program of racing, there will be many in
crowd activities and promotions that will involve the fans. For more
