Press Release by Dennis Thompson

Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, WI has released its 2008 racing schedule along with several announcements concerning the 2007 Awards Banquet, upcoming meetings and track operations for the upcoming season.

Tickets are still available for the January 19 “Celebration of Champions” Banquet honoring the accomplishments of the weekly divisions champions and participants during the 2007 season.

The 2008 season schedule will once again feature a variety of racing entertainment that will be anchored by the regular five divisions of modifieds, grand nationals, stocks, legends and dirt devils. Special events on the schedule include the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series scheduled for August 2. The legends division will also compete as a supporting division on that program. The “Duel at the Dam” Series featuring the IRA Outlaw Sprints and the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association will take place on May 3, May 31 and July 12.  The May 3 “Duel at the Dam” event will also serve as the first racing event of the season at the raceway. Several other specials are being contemplated, but have not been set at this time. Updates will be forthcoming as plans are finalized.

Wisconsin Motorsports and Entertainment, LLC also announced that Carolyn Mueller, long time Charter employee and race fan, has been appointed as the new manager of Charter Raceway Park. Carolyn brings many years of experience and is committed to grass roots racing and developing strong community ties. Former manager, Rex Melius, is credited with developing a great staff and program that was highlighted by the five regular race divisions. During the winter months, Carolyn can be contacted at 920-382-7858.

Press releases are planned for the future to give racers and fans more information pertaining to the banquet and the plans for the season ahead.
