Divisions

IMCA Sanctioned Stock Cars

This class of cars is a more evolved racing machine than the Street Stock division. This division features full size Ford and GM Mid-1980’s type cars. Body styles include Monte Carlo, Malibu, Regal, Cutlass, Thunderbird and LeMans; this is a popular class for drivers to eventually move up to, as they progress in their racing careers.

The Grand Nationals are known for their intense fender to fender racing on the track.

Hang onto your seat when these modern day gladiators enter the arena, the roar of the crowd and the engines will be second to none.

INEX Sanctioned Legends

Bring back the “good ol’ days” with the Legend Cars, with these scaled down versions of the stock cars of yesteryear. Legends are an extremely competitive, yet affordable way to go racing. Powered by a Yamaha 1250cc motorcycle engines, these brutes are all race car. Legend cars are a “spec” car but they are every bit a race car, complete with coil over suspension that allows a driver to tune the car to his or her liking.

Legend Cars help put the racing emphasis on car preparation, handling, and driving rather than the “let’s see who can spend the most money syndrome”. Getting the car right is much more important in Legend racing than is a big engine. This division is featured on a weekly basis at Beaver Dam Raceway Park. This featured division has proven to be a favorite with the racing crowd.

Along with the nostalgic look that lends itself to immediate popularity, and coupled that with the fact that this class of race car has close competitive racing, you will see why these cars have become so popular. Take notice when the Legends enter the arena, you’ll like what you see.

IMCA Sanctioned Modified

The Modified is an open wheel racecar that uses the very latest in high performance racing equipment. This class was designed with one thing in mind…..SPEED ! With numerous possible chassis setups, and extremely close competition, it is important for the driver and crew to be knowledgeable about advanced racing.

A good understanding of mathematics and physics is very helpful and many drivers have several years of racing experience before moving up to this division. Modifieds can be found throughout the upper-Midwest and they provide some intense racing action.

Their sheer numbers mean drivers in this class need to keep their foot to the floor and take advantage of every opportunity, if they intend to make it to the checkered flag.

IMCA Sanctioned Sport Modified

The Sport Mod is an open wheel division. They utilize a chassis that is similar to the modified division. They have some restrictions in rear suspension. This class also uses a restricted or "crate" engine to reduce costs. Similar cars are raced at numerous tracks throughout the Midwest and are growing in popularity. They provide an exciting form of racing at a budget more racers can afford. It is because of this that this class is one of the fastest growing divisions at Beaver Dam. You can find a variety of drivers in this division from the seasoned veteran to the rookie learning the intricacies of open wheel racing. Checkered Flags are hard to come by in this ultra competitive division.

Unified Street Stock

This division is based off the popular “Street Stock” style rules found throughout the state of Wisconsin. This division allows for full and mid-size cars to compete with restrictions designed to keep the division both stock and affordable. All these cars started out as stock style production cars. Safety items have been added to these cars to make them safe for competition.

Though minor modifications are allowed, the rules are very strict and the end result is very evenly matched competitive cars. Great side by side racing action along with this fast paced close quarters class that isn’t afraid to “trade paint”, is very popular with those who think that real racecars must have doors and fenders. This division is based off the popular “Street Stock” style rules found throughout the state of Wisconsin.
